Modern Sculptures

The development of new tools and methods for sculpture can have a dramatic effect on the way artists work as well as on the range of aesthetic options available. Over the past 25 years, there have been major changes in sculptural processes and the tools associated with them. I have spoken with sculptors who work in a variety of materials and styles, as well as with people in the tool manufacturing and supply industry, and the consensus is that there are four primary areas of change:
1. the technology revolution, in particular, computers and micro-electronics;
2. the decline in the use of hand tools and conversely, a greater reliance on power tools;
3. access to a tremendous range of materials and processes; and
4. the issue and practice of safety, both personal and industrial.

Gynoid - The Female Robot - domestic servant and sexual slave

A gynoid is anything which resembles or pertains to the female human form. It is also used in American English medical terminology as a shortening of the term Gynecoid. Gynoid has now gained popular usage to refer specifically to female robots as the term android is used almost universally to refer to robotic humanoids regardless of apparent gender. Android is perceived as implying a male-styled robot according to some cultural readings..

Artificial women have been a common trope in fiction and mythology since the writings of the ancient Greeks. This has continued with modern fiction, particularly in the genre of science fiction. In science fiction, female-appearing robots are often produced for use as domestic servants and sexual slaves, and sometimes as warriors, killers, or laborers.

China's Tiangong-1 space lab

China's Tiangong-1 space lab was launched in the Gobi desert, on the 29 September 2011. The rocket's ascent took the lab out over the Pacific, and on a path to an orbit some 350km above the Earth. Tiangong translates from Chines as "heavenly palace". China is investing billions of dollars in its space programme. It has a strong space science effort under way, with two orbiting satellites having already been launched to the Moon. A third mission is expected to put a rover on the lunar surface. The Asian country is also deploying its own satellite-navigation system known as BeiDou, or Compass. Bigger rockets are coming, too. The Long March 5 will be capable of putting more than 20 tonnes in a low-Earth orbit. This lifting muscle, again, will be necessary for the construction of a space station.

Fedcon Star Trek Animation

This was the opening movie for the FedCon Science Fiction convention. It shows off the two most prominent ships of the new movie - the Kelvin and the Enterprise. Since these two ships would have never been able to meet, this is just a "what if" variation. Because, as you know - in SciFi, anything is possible. All elements of the movie, except the music, are done by Tobias Richter of The Light Works.
